Step 1: Check your eligibility

  • The e-visa is available for all nationalities. Kindly check your eligibility before applying.
  • Please prepare a 4×6 cm photo without glasses that meets the official requirements.
  • Ensure your passport has at least 6 months’ validity. If not, we recommend renewing it prior to your application.

Step 2: Get your documents ready

  • A passport valid for at least six (06) months, along with a clear .jpg scan of its bio page.
  • A passport-sized photo in .jpg format (4×6 cm, white background, no glasses).
  • A valid international credit or debit card for e-visa payment.
  • A temporary address in Vietnam (hotel, homestay, or a relative’s residence) and your planned travel details, including entry/exit dates and ports.

  4. Enter your travel information, including intended travel dates, sponsoring or inviting organization (if applicable), accommodation details, and duration of stay
  5. Make the e-visa payment (55 USD) using one of the supported methods such as Visa, MasterCard, or other debit/credit cards

  7. Once approved, download your e-visa from mail.

Limitations

While the Vietnam e-visa offers many advantages, there are a few limitations to consider.

  • Possible processing delays
    Although the system is generally efficient, applications submitted during public holidays or with incomplete/incorrect information may take longer than expected to process.
  • No room for errors
    All information must be accurate at the time of submission. Changes cannot be made afterward, and rejected applications are not eligible for a refund.

To be considered for a Vietnam E-visa, foreign nationals must satisfy all of the following conditions:

  • Residing outside of Vietnam at the time of application.
  • Hold a passport with a remaining validity of no less than six months from the date of submission.
  • Not fall under any category prohibited from entering Vietnam as outlined in Article 21 of Vietnam’s Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners.
  • Hold citizenship of a country that is officially recognized as eligible for Vietnam’s E-visa program under Decree No. 7/2017/ND-CP issued by the Vietnamese Government.

Once all required information and documents are ready, completing a Vietnam E-visa application involves 3 straightforward steps:

  • A photo of your passport data page and a portrait photo meeting the specified requirements
  • All personal details and information related to your intended stay in Vietnam
